“Where there’s a will, there’s a genealogist.” This light-hearted comment is a perfect illustration of the old adage that “many a true word is spoken in jest”, for wills, administrations and the records relating to the process of probate are invaluable to genealogists and family historians.
This section of the website, launched on 12 March 2017, is very much a work in progress. For now, it consists of two pages listing known wills and administrations (over 170 of them) made by or in respect of people bearing the Atcherley surname by birth or marriage. There are more to be added, along with abstracts and eventually, full transcripts of the wills I have copies of.
