Above can be seen three more memorials to members of the Atcherley family which can be found inside the church of Myddle St Peter. The monument on the left is made of wood painted to give the appearance of stone, whereas its neighbour is a marble tablet. Below are more detailed views.
The wooden tablet is topped with the arms and crest of the Marton Atcherleys. The heraldic descriptions of these are as follows. Arms: Gu., on a fess. engr. arg., betw. three griffins heads erased or., as many crosses pattée fitchée sa. Crest: A demi-bustard couped gu., wings elevated or., in the beak a lily arg., slipped vert.
Below the Atcherley arms and crest is the MI, dedicated to Robert Atcherley (baptised 8 Jan 1730/1) who died “without issue,” Robert’s uncle Richard Atcherley (baptised 30 Oct 1705, who died unmarried), Robert’s brother Richard Atcherley (baptised 24 Feb 1732/2) plus that Richard’s wife Jane (née Hughes), and finally the daughter-in-law of Richard and Jane, Elizabeth Atcherley (née Edwards).

Aged 61 Years.
The marble tablet is also topped with the Atcherley arms and crest, plus the family motto, SPE POSTERI TEMPORIS – in hope of the latter time.
Below the arms and crest is the MI, fading and not easy to read, dedicated to the last of the original line of Marton Atcherleys (see Richard Atcherley and his hopes for posterity). The inscription, the first few lines of which are shown above, reads:

The final monument is the most recent, dedicated to one of David Francis Atcherley’s grandsons:
