Thomas of Twyford

… and his descendants

Reviewed and updated 7 Feb 2015.

Originally I believed that the Thomas Atcherley at the head of this branch was a son of Richard Atcherley of Stanwardine. However it is now clear that he was Thomas Atcherley alias Edge, the illegitimate son of Thomas Atcherley of Marton in the parish if Myddle. While the main Marton line which was descended from Thomas of Marton eventually became extinct, the branch started by his illegitimate son returned to the ancestral home of the Atcherley family at Stanwardine and has survived to the present day.

Unless otherwise stated, all places below are in Shropshire, England and those places outside Shropshire are in England or Wales.
