Spouse: Mary Jones. Born at Stanwardine in the Fields, in the parish of Baschurch. Baptised 7 Jan 1781 at Baschurch, daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Jones.   • Hannah Atcherley. Born at Weston Lullingfields, in the parish of Baschurch. Baptised 24 Feb 1808 at Baschurch. Census: 1841 – with mother. Married Robert Pembrey (born at Bromley, and baptised 17 Nov 1804 at Hordley) on 16 Nov 1843 at Baschurch. Hannah died 10 Apr 1875 in Shropshire and was buried 15 Apr 1875 at Baschurch. Robert died 1881 in Shropshire, burial record not found. The couple had no children.
  • Mary Atcherley. Born at Weston Lullingfields, in the parish of Baschurch. Baptised 13 Oct 1809 at Baschurch. Married Richard Hincks (born about 1814 at Westbury) 15 Apr 1841 at Baschurch, and lived with him in Liverpool. Richard died 3 Sep 1867 in Liverpool, and Mary died there 1888. The couple had a daughter, Mary Eleanor Hincks.

  • Mary Jane Atcherley. Born at Stanwardine in the Fields in the parish of Baschurch. Baptised 13 Oct 1848 at Baschurch. Married Robert Menter Baxter (born about 1846 at Nottingham, Nottinghamshire). This was Robert’s second marriage, his first wife, Emma, having died in about 1881 (about two years after the birth of her tenth child with Robert). Mary died 13 May 1925 at Scarborough, Yorkshire. Robert died 1 May 1926 in Yorkshire.
  • Sarah Atcherley. Born at Stanwardine in the Fields in the parish of Baschurch. Baptised 16 Jan 1850 at Baschurch. Census: 1851 – with parents; 1861 – Stanwardine in the Fields, Baschurch. Died 20 Nov 1865 in Shropshire. Buried 2 Dec 1865 at Baschurch, aged 15.
  • Roger Atcherley. Born 21 Jun 1851 at Stanwardine in the Fields in the parish of Baschurch. Baptised 30 Jul 1851 at Baschurch. A draper, dairy farmer, grocer, gardener and, finally, a florist. Census: 1861 – Stanwardine in the Fields, Baschurch; 1871 – Warrington, Lancashire; 1881 – Manchester, Lancashire. Emigrated to Australia, arriving there 11 Jul 1887. Married Elizabeth Duffield (born 1 Jan 1853 on Rottnest Island, Fremantle, Western Australia, Australia) on 20 May 1894 at Perth, Western Australia, Australia. This was Elizabeth’s third marriage, her previous husbands being William Shattell and Thomas Mason. Elizabeth died 15 Sep 1922 at Perth, Western Australia, Australia and was buried there 16 Sep 1922; Roger died there 5 Jul 1928 and was buried 7 Jul 1928. The couple had no children.
  • Lucy Atcherley. Born at Stanwardine in the Fields in the parish of Baschurch. Baptised 14 Oct 1853 at Baschurch. Census: 1861 – Stanwardine in the Fields, Baschurch; 1871 – Frodsham, Cheshire. Died 9 Jul 1880 in Shropshire. Buried 12 Jul 1880 at Baschurch, aged 26.
  • Alice Atcherley. Born at Stanwardine in the Fields in the parish of Baschurch. Baptised 12 Jul 1855 at Baschurch. Census: 1861 – Stanwardine in the Fields, Baschurch; 1871 – Shrewsbury. Married James Shaw Hebson (born 1856 at Liverpool, Lancashire) 3 Jun 1879 at Liverpool, Lancashire. James died in the same year he was married, 1879, in Shropshire. His son, James Atcherley Hebson, was born posthumously in 1880. Alice died 1921 at Liverpool, Lancashire.

Spouse: Eliza Baugh. Born at Ellesmere, and baptised there 29 May 1813, daughter of bookseller William Baugh and his wife Elizabeth. Married 1837 in Shropshire, possibly at the Independent Chapel at Ellesmere. Census: 1841, 1851 – with husband. Died 2 Oct 1853 in Lancashire. Children:

  • Mary Atcherley. Born 14 Jun 1838 at Ardwick, Manchester, Lancashire and baptised 9 Sep 1838 at Cannon Street (or Hunter’s Croft) Independent Chapel in that city. Census: 1841 – with parents. Died 1843 in Shropshire aged about 4. Buried 10 Feb 1843 at Ellesmere.

  • Edward Baugh Atcherley (twin). Born 18 Mar 1844 at Ellesmere, died there less than 2 months later. Buried 27 Apr 1844 at Ellesmere.
  • Elizabeth Atcherley. Born 9 Dec 1845 at Ellesmere. Census: 1851 – with parents; 1861 – Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire. Died 28 Jan 1871 in Shropshire, aged 25.
  • Mary Ann Atcherley. Born 21 Oct 1847 at Ellesmere. Census: 1851 – with parents; 1861 – with father. Married Euler Perkins (born 24 Dec 1846 at Manchester, Lancashire) on 8 Aug 1868 at Ellesmere. The couple had a son, Ernest Atcherley Perkins, born 6 Jun 1869 at Manchester, before emigrating to New Zealand where another nine children were born. Mary Ann, along with four of her children, drowned in a boating accident on 11 Jan 1896 in Kaipara off Glorit. Euler died 11 Jul 1925 at Auckland, New Zealand.
  • Richard Atcherley. Born 13 Jul 1849 at Ellesmere. A commercial traveller, a draper’s assistant, a grocer, and finally a jobbing gardener. Census: 1851 – with parents; 1861 – with father; 1871 – Scarborough, Yorkshire; 1881 – Hornsey, Middlesex; 1891 – Mortlake, Surrey; 1901 – Hatton, East Bedfont, Middlesex; 1911 – Ashford, Middlesex. Married Harriet Elizabeth Burgess (born about 1856 at Luton, Bedfordshire) on 7 Aug 1880 at Lambeth, Surrey (she appears with him on the censuses from 1881 to 1911). Harriet died in Middlesex and was buried 21 Dec 1925 at Bedfont, Middlesex. Richard died 1929 in Surrey. The couple had no children.
  • Jemima Atcherley (known as Mina). Born 14 Feb 1851 at Ellesmere. Census: 1851 – with parents; 1861 – with father; 1871 – Cheetham, Lancashire. Married Alexander McClymont (born about 1851 at Penninghame, Wigtownshire, Scotland) on 21 Nov 1873 at Manchester, Lancashire. The couple had two sons in Manchester (Gilbert Murray McClymont and Richard Atcherley McClymont) before emigrating to Canada, where they had a third son (Percy John I McClymont). Alexander died 6 Jun 1891 in Frontenac, Ontario, Canada. Jemima died 2 Nov 1911 at Kingston, Frontenac, Ontario, Canada.
  • Robert Pembrey Atcherley. Born 14 Dec 1852 at Liverpool, Lancashire, and died there in infancy later that month or in early 1853.

Spouse: Sarah Barkley. Born at Ellesmere, and baptised there 11 Jul 1824, daughter of farmer Robert Barkley and his wife Sarah. Married 29 Dec 1849 at Bradford, Yorkshire. Census: 1851, 1861, 1871 – with husband; 1881 – Withington, Lancashire; 1891 – Leamington, Warwickshire. Died 24 Mar 1899 in Warwickshire. Children:

  • Fanny Atcherley. Born 9 Dec 1850 at Manchester, Lancashire and baptised on 25 Mar 1851 at Cannon Street (or Hunter’s Croft) Independent Chapel in that city. Census: 1851, 1861 – with parents. Married Edward Paine Rose (born 1840 at Bedford, Bedfordshire) 1870 at Manchester, Lancashire. This was Edward’s second marriage (he had previously been married to Emma Goode and had a son with her; she died 1867). Fanny died 31 Mar 1908 in Bedford, Bedfordshire, and Edward died there in 10 Jun 1911. Edward and Fanny had four children at Bedford, including Frank Atcherley Rose.
  • Lucy Atcherley. Born Aug 1852 at Manchester, Lancashire. Census: 1861, 1871 – with parents. Married William Patterson (born 8 Mar 1847 at Eniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland) on 24 Mar 1875 at Manchester, Lancashire. The couple had five children and the whole family emigrated (though not all at the same time) to Canada. Lucy died 29 Jul 1924 at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and William died 24 Nov 1931 at Aylmer East, Quebec, Canada.
  • Barkley Atcherley. Born 1854 at Manchester, Lancashire. Census: 1861 – with parents. Died 29 Jun 1869 at Manchester, Lancashire, aged 14. Buried 3 Jul 1869 at Manchester.
  • Clara Atcherley. Born 1857 at Manchester, Lancashire, died there in 1858 and buried there 20 Oct 1858.

Frank died 25 Apr 1931 at Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaiian Islands, USA. Rose died 17 Mar 1939 at Hillsborough, San Mateo, California, USA and was buried at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park on 20 Mar 1839.
